The Pharisees questioned Jesus on why His disciples would pluck the grain on the Sabbath Day. They considered it work and unlawful. Jesus responded by teaching them that the Sabbath was made for man. The Sabbath is a day of rest for us in order that we might delight in Him. The Pharisees had missed the spirit of the law and were living by the letter.
